Data Spy

This is an application designed to allow the user to view, edit and monitor data from different data sources at the same time. Why spend big bucks buying MS Access to all your user so they can view the data in the tables, when with this program you can do the same thing, if not easier with less than half the price of MS Access.

The data spy can connect to any database, not just Access, to create different views of data. It also brings a server monitor that can help to monitor data servers status. You can also make queries to the data using a built in query builder that is very easy to use. The Data Spy also allows to export the data of any of its view to XML format, sort it in any way and view summary totals of any field.

The Neodeck Data Spy is a simple solution to solve complex problems dealing with viewing your data and being aware of it all the time. This software was designed to allow for the creation of different spy objects, meaning objects that allow for the viewing, monitoring and editing of data. The interface is simple, and object creating is done with access like wizards, so the application is easy to use for IT staff as it is for any management personnel that might want to use it too. Since management likes to be aware of what is going on in a company at all times, this application can satisfy this need.

This first version of Neodeck Data Spy includes the data objects below:

Data Views

For data views, they can be created using a specific SQL query. The process is guided with a wizard interface, you first create a connection string, create a query, configure any fields that are linked to another fields, and finally select a group to where to place your new view. Views can be setup to allow updating, new entries and deleting records, they also include an interface to filter and sort the data very easily.

Data Monitors

Data monitors can provide a quick graphical view of any data. The way it works is you create a database query, you could even use provider specific functions; then you use the returned fields or constants to fill the min, max and value properties of the gauge bar. Everything is done using a wizard interface

Server Monitors

To know the status of your data servers or any server all the time, Data Spy provides a server monitors that changes from the color you choose to the color you also choose whenever it goes down or up. This way it will be easy to identify any problems very quickly.

More data objects are on their way in the next release, including data alerts that can send an email or run a program when something happens with your data.
